A terrific time was had in Bendigo at the inaugural D9815 Conference: we belong - we are better together. Very enjoyable club dinner hosted by Kevin and Isabel Dobson.  DG Partners project now reached $138K Rotary year to date!  A good time in the expo networking and sharing OTA & OCA with other clubs. Thanks Wendy, Malcolm, Kath, Brian & Sue Martin, Tony with me for your participation. 
 
Photos from our club's 35 yrs Serving celebration breakfast, where $3,500 was donated by our club to The Rotary Foundation.

Members invited to attend a thankyou  morning tea, for our support of the MAT program, at Roberts McCubbin Primary School, Monday April 28 12:00 midday. 
 
Students will showcase their skills and demonstrate how this program has benefitted their learning and development.  The MAT Life Skills Program uses therapeutic martial arts drills, games, metaphors and stories to deliver physical and mental wellbeing objectives in a fun and interactive way. 
 
Good attendance encouraged.   Please advise Malcolm by Apr 23.

This is consistent with:
  • 76% or 16/21 member respondents agreeing or strongly agreeing with this change
  • Box Hill Central Rotary board approval for this change
  • Club by-laws requiring at least two meetings monthly. 
The purpose is to move away from meeting centric culture towards service centric. 
  • Addressing Classroom Hunger project will be running on those dates at 10:00-11:00am at Forest Hill Chase, venue TBA.  Members and friends please register here:  April 23,   May 28,   June 17
  • Club service committees (OTA,OCA,RR,E&S etc) encouraged to schedule their meetings during week of no morning club meeting, where possible.
  • other hands on local projects encouraged.
 
but it's hard
A reflection from Rick Warren. 
 
Growth is often painful and scary. 
There is no growth without change. 
There is no change without fear or loss.
And there is no loss without pain. 
Every change involves a loss of some kind.
You must let go of old ways to experience the new. 
 
We fear these losses,
Even if our old ways were self defeating,
because, like a worn out pair of shoes,
They were at least comfortable and familiar.
