Our club’s Diwali Dinner was a wonderful evening filled with colour, laughter, and the spirit of connection.
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is celebrated on the new moon night â€” when the sky is at its darkest — reminding us that even in darkness, we can choose to bring light, hope, and joy to others.

That message was beautifully reflected throughout the night as members, partners, friends, and community connections came together to celebrate the power of unity and service.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of a $10,000 contribution to Dave Burt and the team at SALT – Sport and Life Training. Their inspiring work in building wellbeing, resilience, and positive values in young people truly embodies the spirit of Diwali — spreading light where it’s needed most.

President Wendy shared that the true meaning of Diwali lies in the inner light each of us brings, and how grateful we are to be connected to such a wonderful community.
Together, we shine our lights collectively, creating long-lasting positive change — both in the community and within ourselves.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the members and friends from Bendigo Community Bank Blackburn South for joining us and creating such great networking and fellowship with our club. Your generous donation to our recent Grand Final Breakfast made it possible for us to support SALT’s important work — thank you again for your partnership and generosity.

Special thanks to President Elect Niranjan for his tremendous effort in bringing the event together, and to everyone who contributed and participated with such passion and enthusiasm.
Your energy and teamwork made the evening a true celebration of light and togetherness.

As candles and laughter filled the room, the night closed with a shared sense of joy, gratitude, and renewed purpose to continue making our world a little brighter, one light at a time.

Happy Diwali to all who continue to light the way forward! 🪔✨
